In a growing world of isolation with loneliness being named an epidemic by the US Surgeon General, Vivek Murthy, stories like The Light are imperative to begin instilling the skill of listening to our inner voice while engaging our readers with vibrant illustrations. In reading this story to our little ones, our goal is to remind every adult to connect back to themselves, too.

Scarlett @planetscarlett is the author and self-publisher of THE LIGHT @read.thelight, a vibrant picture book about self-connection, self-trust and self-love- for every kid and every kid at heart. She has developed her unique voice drawing from her experiences as an Asian-American storyteller, a solo backpacking adventurer, a solo-performance artist, an actor, as well as, from her creative corporate career in branding, marketing and copywriting. Scarlett has been profoundly impacted by the remarkable people she has met along the way and is committed to telling stories to encourage loving ourselves wholly, so we may show up in the world, more loving, more inclusive and with more acceptance.
